“unpretentious but uncool”

Palace Station is geared toward older guests, thrifty locals, and tourists who have spent all their money on the strip. It's comfortable and reasonably priced, offering a nice change from the flashy mega-resorts on the strip.

“love this hotel”

My partner and I have stayed at this locals casino and hotel three times now, and it's one of the friendliest we've ever visited. While it's one of the older hotels, it's clean and well-maintained, and definitely worth the price. Being just off the strip is a plus if you want to avoid constant traffic, and the local buses are reliable and inexpensive. We're returning in August 2011.

“Another favorite with Island people”

This hotel and another one downtown are very popular with people from the islands. My partner's family often holds reunions alternating between the two, and staying here really gives you an island atmosphere. They have restaurants serving dishes you'd typically find at a diner back in the islands.
