“worth the trek”
You don't need to be a celebrity to enjoy this place. The Palms has built a very trendy reputation among the Southern California crowd and tourists hoping to spot famous people. It's comfortable enough for an average person from New York or California, yet cool enough to keep older folks and out-of-towners from the Midwest away.

“Off the path gorgeous”
If you're a young person looking for a straight-friendly spot, you'll probably like this place. The rooms are very stylish and modern, the crowd is always young and fashionable. The pool is always packed with party types from the East Coast and stylish but arrogant guys from Southern California. If you're into that scene, go for it. I enjoyed my stay; the food is reasonably priced (the buffet is $20 and average), and the crowd will keep you motivated.
