“Great resting place for our brave”

I brought my mom here today; we're a military family. The place is stunningly beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained. Inside the office, there are kiosks to look up where a specific soldier is buried, and another office with staff who can help if you need more assistance. Near the entrance, at the end of the memorial, there's a monument with a seating area below for services. Someone else was right that the views of the city and Diamond Head from up here are amazing.

“Punchbowl Cemetery”

Punchbowl Cemetery sits inside the crater of an extinct volcano that rises above downtown Honolulu. The dramatic location alone is worth visiting. There's also a viewpoint with incredible views of the greater Honolulu area. But beyond that, Punchbowl offers a history lesson. Since it opened in 1949, about 34,000 veterans from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War have been buried here. You can walk through the memorial section featuring tributes and descriptions of various battles in the Pacific Theater, or simply stand on the marble steps leading to the memorial and take it all in. It's a beautiful, serene setting.
