About
City Theatre Company isn't your typical regional theater—it's a dedicated new-play powerhouse. Housed in a converted church on Pittsburgh's South Side, it's the city's largest theater devoted exclusively to a full season of all new work. The New York Times called it "Pittsburgh's most innovative theater company." It produces six contemporary plays each season, often including world premieres from writers like Adam Rapp and Theresa Rebeck. The venue has two stages: the Main Stage and the Lester Hamburg Studio.
This is a place where adventurous theater happens. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 12pm–5pm. If you're in town and want to catch cutting-edge drama, this is your spot. While it's temporarily closed, the nearby Andy Warhol Museum is another great stop for arts lovers.
