“Beautiful Pines Fire Island! Great Music! Hot Men!”
The best part of a New York summer is Low Tea at The Blue Whale in The Pines, Long Island. It gets packed, but the crowd is friendly and diverse. It's enjoyable whether you come with friends or solo; it's easy to relax.

“Yes, a must-do, but really really crowded”
Obviously, Low Tea is something you have to experience at least once during the weekend. I recommend arriving early, around 6, so you can settle in and grab a drink. The rush starts after 6:30 and by 7 the place is packed, making it hard to move and slow to get service at the bar. That's not enjoyable! The Planters Punches are tasty (though expensive), but limit yourself to two if you want to make it home.

“Great Place! (bartenders make anyone feel at home)”
I stopped by LowTea this past Monday to check it out and have a good time, and it really is a great bar to spend time at. The music is very good and the location right by the dock is excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. However, if bartenders see newcomers, please make them feel welcome, whether they are Asian, people of color, or however different. Not all gay people who go there or might want to go there are as polished as what you might be used to most of the time. Your bar is great, but please do not be indifferent — be gay-friendly to everyone. You have a really great place!
